Air element symbols
MANY
BLESSINGS!!

"Great Spirit of Creation, send me the warm and soothing winds from the South (yellow). Comfort me and caress me when I am tired and cold. Unfold me like the gentle breezes that unfold the leaves on the trees. As you give to all the earth your warm, moving wind, give to me, so that I may grow close to you in warmth. Man did not create the web of life, he is but a strand in it. Whatever man does to the web, he does to himself" (Chief Seattle)
In Newsletter #4 we mentioned that there would not be a formal collective ceremony for the Air element on June 19 2010. Due to the response from around the world, it would be beneficial to keep our momentum going to come together to pray on this day, honoring this invisible element.
We will be doing our own ceremony on this day, as I am sure many of you will be also. I have personally worked with Japanese Shinto priests and Tibetan people and would suggest that we follow their advise of honoring the Air through our breath.
Breathing is life. One of our most important functions is to control the vital life energy. This is important if we are to live as conscious beings in alignment with Mother Earth.
Native American
Symbol for Wind

"The Air is precious to the red man, for all things are the same breath - the animals, the trees, the man."
We have now polluted what the first peoples of North America considered to be a living force, capable of communicating to those who would hear it; the powerful Mother Earth language of this cosmic force was interpreted by shamans, medicine men and the wise elders of the tribes.
We ask you on June 19th to use your capabilities like the ancient ones did and ask the Air/Wind what we can do to help it. Become attuned to the imbalance created by smog, volcanic ash, Gulf of Mexico oil evaporation, destructive tornadoes/hurricanes, etc. Use our collective unity to ask the Holy Ones for wisdom and knowledge to correct our wrongs in a healthy, sustainable way.
As a final note, the most powerful alignment for the Air element is at l:00pm on June 19 2010. In honor of my Shinto and Tibetan friends, I would suggest that we collectively concentrate on our breathing, using the breathe (Air/Wind) to guide us in creatively resolving the imbalance we five-fingered ones have created. Use whatever your individual practice dictates to work with the breath; some have suggested that at l:00pm we collectively chant 7 OMs (one for every day of creation), in conjunction with the breath, while praying for our "Air." What is important is our INTENTION for clean and balanced Air/Wind. Hopefully, the Mother Earth will acknowledge our efforts to assist her in Her healing. As we did for Water, please don't forget to extend love and gratitude to this element for giving us LIFE!.

- Mother Earth,
- Thank you for your beauty,
- And for all you have given me.
- Remind me never to take from you
- more then I need, and
- remind me to always give back more than I take.

O Great Spirit of the North,
invisible spirits of the air,
and of the fresh, cool winds;
O vast and boundless Grandfather Sky,
your living breath animates all life.
From you comes clarity and strength,
and the power to hear inner sounds,
to seep out old patterns,
and bring challenge and change.
The ecstasy of movement and the dance.
We pray that we may be aligned with you,
so that your powers may flow through us,
and be expressed by us,
for the good of this planet Earth,
and all living beings upon it.
